Win Tickets to The Brewer’s Plate!

If you have been to The Brewer’s Plate before, you probably hardly need an introduction and enticement. Just go ahead and scroll down to see how you can win a pair of tickets to this event.

If not, let me tell you about one of the very best, often (unfairly) over-looked, beer events in the city.

Brewer’s Plate is a fantastic evening of beers paired with some of the best breweries from the GTA. It’s a charitable event, in support of The Friends of the Greenbelt, who work to protect and support the largest permanently protect greenbelt (the natural, often agricultural area that surrounds/”belts” urban areas) in the world. If you live in the GTA and like fresh fruits and vegetables, clean air, and sparkling drinking water, you love the greenbelt, even if you didn’t realize it.

I’ve been fortunate to attend Brewer’s Plate a few times, and it is always a stand-out event for me. Incredible brewers, including Amsteredam, Sawdust, Muskoka, Black Oak, and a whole heap more. Some of the best chefs in the city preparing food. Other specialities like ChocoSol and my friends over at Station Cold Brew. There’s going to be a bloody local gin producer. That I have to miss this year’s is a tragedy of Shakespearian proportion.

You can check out the full line up (and mourn with me) here: http://www.brewersplatetoronto.org

But you, my friend, and blog-reader of immensely great taste, do not have to miss it. The event goes down this Wednesday, May 13th, at Corus Quay (25 Dockside Dr) starting at 6pm. Tickets are $95, which would be worth it for the food and drink alone, but when you consider that this is a fund-raiser for a fantastic cause, that price seems surprisingly low. That said, I feel you, if dropping over two bills (including TTC to the event, DO NOT DRIVE, trust me) is out of your range. The good news is, as the title of this post not-so-cryptically proclaimed, I have a pair of tickets up for grabs.

As usual for me these days, I’m looking for a little social media love in return for an entry into the draw. While the last contest for passes to Toronto Festival of Beer Spring Session was fun, it was complicated. So here’s what I want you to do: Tweet/Post/Gram me, include Brewer’s Plate and a link to this article (here’s a short link for you: http://tbb.link/1PdYHK2). Every one is an entry, but if it gets spammy, you’re out, let’s say a maximum of 15 entries each. Contest closes Wednesday May 13th at 12:01amEST. Using my old friend Excel RANDBETWEEN I’ll select a winner and send you your tickets by email. Here’s a sample tweet you can literally rip directly off:

Hey #toronto, @ChrisSchryer is giving away tickets to @BrewersPlateTo! I’ve entered and you can too, details here: http://tbb.link/1PdYHK2

On Twitter and Instagram I’m @ChrisSchryer (remember, you can’t put links in Instagram updates, so stick it in your bio, and say “link in my bio”). On Facebook, you can tag either me (chris.schryer) or TorontoBeerBlog.

And obviously, this isn’t an event where you can wear your 2015 Beer Fest Shirt (as they aren’t printed yet), but if you’re the beer festival-going type, go ahead and reserve yours here: http://teespring.com/beer-fest-shirt-2015

I’ll give you an extra entry if you buy your shirt before the contest closes! (Because of privacy at Tspring, I’ll have to send you a message, and you can reply if you would like to be included in the extra entry promotion; I can’t actually see your contact info or name directly. Replies will need to be received before 10:30am Wednesday May 13th).
